In April of this year, my longtime friend and fellow high school-era rocker Bruce Huisinga sent me news about the 50th anniversary of the release of 10cc’s I’m Not In Love. I greatly enjoyed the story. Especially intriguing to me was the fact that the original version, written by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman, and sporting a bossa nova feel (huhwhuh?!), was roundly rejected by the other members of the band and…and…discarded! It apparently does not exist – AAARRGGG!!!
After I calmed down somewhat and listened yet again to that marvelous ’75 single, I thought “I must cover this great song, AND…include a nod to that lost bossa version!” And so, here ‘tis, and I hope you dig it!
